The Digital Marketing Assistant will assist with the day-to-day maintenance and support of the department's portfolio and content calendar. They will work within the Digital Strategy team at AEI, coordinating efforts with teammates responsible for design, social media strategy, advertising, SEO optimization, email marketing, and audience development.

This position will report to the Director of Digital Strategy but will closely collaborate with the rest of the team to meet the demands of an editorial calendar, learn more about our social media audiences, expand our impact through digital advertising, podcasting, and ensure our WordPress web properties are delivering the right content to the right channels.

A successful candidate will have previous social media experience, an eye for good stories, sound judgement, and a strong aesthetic point of view. This position requires a self-starter who isn't afraid to learn new skills and try out new techniques to advance the department's goal of marrying AEI's brand voice with ongoing trends in communication. Any previous experience with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, or basic HTML is a plus.

Fundamentally, ideal candidates will possess the ability to match superb design with concise writing skills, excellent project-management chops, and a team-player attitude. The Digital department's ability to effectively market the work of our scholars also depends on the ability to maintain relationships with other departments, so patience and a customer-centric temperament is crucial.
