The Executive Director, Ambulatory Services will provide leadership and management oversight for all specialty ambulatory practice locations. Oversight includes existing and future Regional Outpatient Centers (ROCs), other off-site practices associated with acquisitions and/or based at affiliated institutions, and main campus specialty clinics. This position is responsible for physician liaison services, providing a critical communication link between community-based referring pediatricians and institutions and CNMC services.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Related field. (Required)
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Public Administration or other related field. (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience
10 years Progressive related experience.

Minimum of 7 years supervisory/management experience in related job function. (required)

Minimum of 5 years experience in practice management and/or revenue cycle required. (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Expertise in the area of specialty with required certifications and licenses as applicable.
Strong knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experienced in department budget and personnel communications.

Functional Accountabilities
Organizational Performance

  • Plan, implement, direct and evaluate these departments on a strategic and operational level to ensure CNMC's move to a "Top 5" organization and an Employer of choice.


  • Improve, build, maintain and report on achievement of access goals, clinic efficiency, family and staff satisfaction.
  • Develop a communication strategy and tools to ensure the effective communication of all department programs to CNMC management and staff.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Office and PR & Marketing to support regional strategy and service line goals.

Human Capital

  • Assess and monitor departmental staffing requirements and align department to effectively and efficiently meet organizational needs.


  • Define, set and utilize appropriate performance and quality measures for the department and for individual staff members.
  • See oneself as a leader of others, from forming a top team that possesses balanced capabilities to setting the mission, values and norms, as well as holding the team members accountable individually and as a group for results.
  • Establish, build, and sustain professional contacts for the purpose of building networks of people with similar goals that support similar interests.

Information Technology

  • Actively sponsor the utilization and continuous upgrading of information management capabilities.
  • Ensure the availability and quality of data to support senior leadership decision-making.
  • Responsible to leverage the scheduling system to achieve efficient clinic flow, budgeted visits (in collaboration with Executive Directors), and to improve patient & physician satisfaction.

Budget

  • Oversee the development and monitoring of operating, capital and various project budgets.


  • Develop recommendations to facilitate meeting budget requirements.
  • Responsible for charge capture for all specialty services to ensure revenue targets are met.

Operations Management

  • Develop budgets in collaboration with Executive Directors for specialty visits to ensure support of clinical activities.


  • Develop recommendations to address budget variances.
  • Leverage Revenue Cycle needs against clinical operation processes to ensure budgeted targets are met.
  • Oversee management team responsible for day to day clinical and business operations at locations to include nursing, technicians, patient flow, scheduling, registration, time of service collections, referral and authorization requirements.
