The Cloud Cyber Engineer, Sr works with software architects and engineers to manage current and future cloud-based software security solutions. The Cloud Cyber Engineer, Sr will be a member of a team that will plan, design, and implement the overall Cloud architecture to protect the project infrastructure, and to provide a secure method of accessing applications and the Internet.

  • Take a lead role in implementation a cloud security solution that meets standards, guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements related to information security and cloud computing such as ISO 27001, Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), NIST 800-53, PCI DSS, SOC2, etc.
  • Develop and/or apply standards and best practices surrounding Software as a service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) implementations.
  • Develop security test plans for the cloud solution including acceptance criteria.
  • Implement the cloud security solution as per design through an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Develop and educate others about cloud security-specific best practices.
  • Participate in technical assessments and reviews to validate the technical approach and associated work products and implementations.
  • Assist systems engineering as they conduct requirements analysis, design, development, performance measurement, verification and validation, certification and accreditation, deployment, change management, and transition.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Additional experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Additional education or relevant higher-level certifications may be used in lieu of experience.
  • 5+ years' experience with SaaS, PaaS, or other cloud-based security frameworks.
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing and securing cloud environments
  • Experience consulting on and architecting the implementation of a wide range of innovative cloud security use cases
  • Technical experience with one or more cloud-based application platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure
  • Possess and maintain a valid state operator's license.
  • Possess Baseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-II or IAM-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
  • Possess cloud-based platform specific certification preferred (i.e., AWS Associate or Professional Certifications)
  • TS/SCI Clearance

  • Strong communications skills (both written and oral)
  • Strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or on-call support.
