Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group has partnered with a financial services institution to seek a Consumer Loan Officer for a career opportunity in Washington, DC. In this role you will provide a full range of consumer loan services to members.   • Ensure timely and accurate processing of consumer loan requests
  • Recommend credit union financial products and services to members
  • Respond to member loan inquires regarding credit union services
  • Provide service to members in the area of loans and determine members' needs and either transact the business or refer the member to the appropriate staff member.
  • Advise members of additional lending options and alternatives, if available
  • Complete loan documents and disburse loans, when approved
  • Maintain member loan files, folders and necessary documentation
  • Perform administrative duties associated with the Visa credit card program
  • Follow up on automobile titles and insurance policies
  • Ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations
  • Participate in employee education and cross-training
  • Create and deliver reports as directed by management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of consumer lending experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing lending
