Summary

The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight of operations in the warehouse. This includes managing, receiving, tracking, and storing inventory, as well as training staff, managing shipping, workload planning, and monitoring the movement of goods. The Facilities Operations Manager will oversee the distribution, allocation, delivery, and resource disposal, as well as analyze and coordinate the logistical functions related to the warehouse.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve warehouse operations and operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Prepare and complete action plans and implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
  • Resolve problems, complete audits, and identifying trends.
  • Maintain proficiency in all relevant policies and procedures, including the ability to articulate and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Maintain operational focus with emphasis on supplier performance, day-to-day resolution of deliveries, and procure-to-pay issues.
  • Evaluate and measure vendor performance to ensure performance meets expectations, including lead time, delivery appointments, quality, and contract commitments.
  • Maintain positive relationship with vendors and visit vendor sites as required based on business needs.
  • Assist sourcing and procurement team with category spend assessments, supplier selection, price negotiation, and bid evaluation processes.
  • Effectively communicate oral and written resolution of issues with all internal and external partners.
  • Provide interactive bridge between corporate, procurement, internal and external customers, and suppliers.
  • Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment, prepare work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision.
  • Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards, and procedures and comply with legal regulations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for select equipment and equipment families.
  • Assist with design and implementation of work methods and operational procedures for activities, like verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of workers engaged in materials movement or handling, receiving, loading, unloading, stacking, order filling, shipping, and maintaining stock in a storeroom or warehouse.
  • Coordinate on a regular basis with program leadership and staff as well as customer POCs to ensure the operational logistics schedule is in line with the program deliverable schedule.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a database to order, store, track, and issue ancillary items with defense distribution depots to support PD CTIS' fielding activities.
  • Maintain current relevancy of emerging logistics concepts and technology.
  • Act as primary POC for logistics tasking from PEO and other higher headquarters.
  • Serve as backup POC for Materiel Release tracking for PD CTIS.
  • Act as liaison between the PM and CECOM MR office.
  • Query PD CTIS' product directors for MR forecasts, updates to forecasts, updates to get well plans for other than full materiel release and consolidate all materiel release actions and modification work orders for systems prior to fielding.
  • Successfully update firmware and drivers on computers as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 4+ years of experience with procurement and warehouse management activities
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level (functions, formulas)
  • Must be able to obtain Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certifications within 3 months of hire
  • Must have an active secret clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm on site.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office.
  • Understanding of technology/computer(s) and imaging processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with public speaking skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Must be able to work on site.
  • Able to work weekend, evenings, and holidays, as needed.
  • Able to travel, as needed.
  • Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021.
