The SAS System Administrator - Senior is responsible for administrating and managing the SAS environment. The SAS System Administrator - Senior performs maintenance, configuration, and deployment of SAS based systems. The SAS System Administrator - Senior implements major software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures are implemented and followed. The SAS System Administrator - Senior is responsible for incident management as it relates to SAS based platforms. The SAS System Administrator - Senior manages the interaction and integration of SAS with other systems.

  • Secure the SAS configuration on each server machine.
  • Check status and operate servers.
  • Monitor server activity and administer logging.
  • Establish formal, regularly scheduled backup processes.
  • Add users and manage their access.
  • Establish connectivity to data sources.
  • Set up and secure metadata folder structures.
  • Administer repositories and move metadata.
  • Understand the interaction between SAS servers and operating systems.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 8+ years of experience administrating and managing SAS platforms
  • Experience working with analytical systems
  • Active SAS Certified Platform Administrator certification or equivalent
  • Background check with the ability to obtain a public trust clearance

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor
  • Previous customer service experience strongly desired
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
  • Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021
