Vice President, TMT Equity Research
Summary:
Capital One Securities has an immediate need for a Senior Analyst to join our research team with coverage responsibilities in the Technology/Software sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working within Technology/Software sell-side research and possess the ability to work within a team and on a self-directed basis, while demonstrating excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop coverage targets aligned with banking strategy and investor relevance
- Produce sector and company reports and presentations for internal and external constituents
- Monitor multiple information sources on sector or company specific news items and trends
- Maintain macro and industry data series and company specific financial models
- Develop industry contacts and proprietary information sources
- Actively engage clients and issuers directly to enhance platform value and visibility
- Develop actionable investment ideas and proactively communicate through sales and outbound client calls
- Attend industry and company sponsored conferences and field trips
- Facilitate corporate access events
- Other duties as necessary
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a top educational institution
- Financial modeling experience and strong understanding of accounting principles
- 3+ years of experience in sell-side Technology/Software research
- FINRA Licensed with valid Series 7, 63, 86 and 87
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree and/or CFA
- Advanced level of proficiency in financial tools including Excel, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience leading meetings with company management teams and investors
- Proven ability to dissect company financials; perform valuation analysis
- Ability to multi-task and collaborate with multiple teams in a dynamic organization
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
- 5+ years of experience in technology/software equity research
- A passion for the equity markets and interest in technology/software industry
