Responsibilities

This announcement is open to All U.S. Citizens who reside or are currently employed in the Fort Meade local commuting area, which includes the District of Columbia and Baltimore City; Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Prince George,Montgomery, Howard, Harford, Charles, Calvert, Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore; Adams County in Pennsylvania; Virginia counties of Arlington and Fairfax and all cities existing in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties.

As a IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION) you will be responsible for the following duties:

- Works closely with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) technical and non-technical personnel to plan for and coordinate the fielding of new Hardware and Software systems in support of Enterprise Architecture and Engineering services that support the mission of DCSA.
- The incumbent will be responsible for evaluating and researching new IT solutions in support of Agency objectives to streamline and improve processing of requirements. Any solution selected will meet DoD approved security mandates and work effectively within the existing DCSA Enterprise Architecture
.- The incumbent will be responsible for deploying new solutions in the DCSA pre-production environment for testing and evaluation of the proposed solutions.

    Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

    You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-11) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility:

    Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    - Demonstrate experience researching new automation technologies.
    - Demonstrate experience maintaining hardware and software purchases, updates, and service contracts
    - Demonstrate experience in creation of accreditation packages, change requests, and baselines for laptop, tablet, desktop, and VDI environments
    - Demonstrate Must have knowledge with ensuring compliance with DISA vulnerability management processes

    Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
    Competency ID: 1071: (Information Technology Configuration Management)- Plan, implement, track and/or evaluate configuration/requirement changes across the enterprise and organizations Competencies ID -1078: (Information Technology Policy and Planning)- Develop and promulgate Information Technology strategy, policy, guidance, and plans. Monitor to ensure consistency and compliance. Competencies ID - 1073: (Information Technology Life Cycle)- Plan, develop and/or manage processes across the information systems/services life cycle to ensure Information Technology capabilities meet current and future organizational and enterprise missions. Competencies ID - 1074: (Information Technology Performance Assessment)- Conduct continuous performance measurement to ensure that Information Technology activities, processes, and/or hardware/software are achieving desired results.

    Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

    DCSA, as a newly designated Defense Agency is undergoing a multi-year transformation that includes a significant expansion of predecessor agencies' authorities and responsibilities. Mission accretion and associated growth in personnel and resources requires deliberate coordination and planning across operations and support activities to achieve effective outcomes while simultaneously establishing and integrating new activities, initiatives and projects. The new organization will be comprised of nearly 13,000 government and contractor personnel operation throughout the United States and overseas supporting stakeholders across the federal government.
