General Construction Superintendent - Historic Restoration
Job Description We are seeking a General Construction Superintendent - Historic Restoration to join our team You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Historic restoration experience is required. Local knowledge of the sub market is extremely important, and will be a needed skill for the incumbent. Follow-on projects in the Petersburg area are anticipated. Procore experience a plus. Essential Duties: Manage the rehab of a historic school into into affordable housing apartments and community space. Coordination of abatement and interior demolition subcontractors. Coordination of utilities and all site work, foundations, framing, and finish-out. Monitor daily activities and compile reports on progress, compliance, and obstacles. Inspect completed and in-progress structures and sites for safety, compliance, and conforming to material and structural needs Enforce safety and legal regulations to ensure a safe job site. Communicate with subcontractors and field staff to ensure adherence to schedules, plans, and specifications. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of multifamily construction. Strong written/verbal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and subcontractors. Strong analysis skills and understanding of structural and MEP roughs, drywall finish, and unit turnover process within Multifamily Construction experience Primary Responsibilities: Work on project from start to closeout and when needed. Assist in creating and maintaining schedules for the project. Subcontractor and material scheduling as well as employee job task scheduling and ordering or assisting with ordering all material to complete the project. Keep updated records of progress relating to scheduling, cost, and budget. Create positive relationships with team members, subcontractors, and owners. Prioritize tasks and identify problems or potential problems as they relate to the organization of the job. Coordination with Project Manager and support team to complete all aspects of the project. Perform quality control of materials received on the project. Inspect all work completed, taking appropriate corrective standards, and calling for required inspections by proper authorities at the required stages. Maintain logbooks, phone logs, safety orientations, and reports. Assist in any additional duties as requested.
