Responsibilities: BT Prep is Baker Tillys (BT) nationally centralized processing center established to gain efficiency, standardize processes, reduce costs but most importantly to more effectively utilize the time of our accounting professionals. While prior tax preparation experience is ideal, experience is not necessary. We will teach you what you need to know to successfully prepare client tax returns and the most exciting part of it all, your training will be 100% paid for! BT offers a professional, yet fun work environment. You will feel at home quickly and will be supported by tax specialists who are available to help guide you and answer questions. Full-time or flexible hours available, paid training will be provided and there is the opportunity to return each tax season.You will enjoy this role if: You are inquisitive, you learn quickly and are not afraid to ask questionsYou are innately a rule follower, structure and guidelines resonate with youYou thrive in an environment where you can work independently and utilize your problem solving skillsWhat you will do:As a Tax Preparer you will be an integral member of the firms centralized tax processing center providing the following: Enter personal client data and financial information into tax preparation softwarePrepare tax returns in accordance with firm policies, ensure information is accurately representedAdhere to the firms written tax practice standards and the firms 1040 procedure manualEnsure client confidentiality by following all company procedures regarding information handling Qualifications: High school diploma required; associate's or bachelors degree preferredIndividualtax return preparation ideal but not requiredKnowledge of basic accounting concepts involved in tax return preparation ideal but not requiredDemonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration and problem solving Provides exceptional client service, adapts and takes initiative, strong project management, organizational and analytical skillsExperience with Adobe Acrobat is preferred, adaptable to new technology and ability to work in a paperless environmentAvailability to work February 2022 through mid-April 2022
