Westat has a new opportunity available for a Payroll Administrator to join our centralized Payroll team. The successful candidate will support the labor, leave and payroll weekly processes for approximately 5,000 employees within a SCA and multistate environment. In this deadline driven role you will be responsible for the complete and accurate calculation of timesheets, employee leave and wages, maintenance and management of all records and distribution of payroll, taxes, deductions and reporting. The candidate must have flexibility to work extended hours and weekends or holidays when required.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Administer timesheets using Deltek Time and Expense. Process necessary adjustments and/or corrections within established processes.
•    Administer payroll using Deltek Costpoint to include data entry for labor, leave and payroll transactions.
•    Maintain compliance with State and Federal regulations including reconciling and filing Federal, State and Local taxes.
•    Process non-tax related deductions including garnishments, 401k and FSA and health benefit premiums.
•    Respond to unemployment and employment verification requests.
•    Support year-end W-2 processing and audit
•    Calculate and process off-cycle checks when necessary.
•    Research discrepancies with payroll information for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
•    Verifying and auditing a variety of payroll related information for the purpose of ensuring accurate distribution of funds and payroll.
•    Maintaining, preparing and overseeing the preparing of a variety of payroll related documents for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, and providing audit references. Documenting and updating current processes and procedures as required.
•    Identifying and documenting all issues/errors an resolutions for future reference and process improvements.
•    Supporting the Payroll Help Desk for issues relating to payroll, leave and timekeeping/labor. Advising employees and managers on company policies and guidelines.
•    Collaborate and support team members and other co-workers.

Basic Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
•    Minimum of 3 years of  progressive, relevant Labor and Payroll experience for a large government contractor.
•    Familiar with Service Contract Act, including wage determination and health and welfare premiums.
•    Deltek Costpoint proficiency
•    Microsoft software (Work, Excel, Outlook) proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Certified Payroll Professional
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with strong customer service skills.
•    Must be detail oriented and be able to work on routine tasks with little to no supervision.
