Description The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing financial operations such as financial planning, financial modeling and capital budgeting. They may also recommend changes and enhancements to existing policies and controls to make sure they are current, adequate, functional and utilized in accordance with standards established by the organization, industry, or regulators. The Finance Manager will manage a team of decision support analysts, reviewing their work and providing guidance. Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree - (Required) MBA preferred, but not required Minimum Work Experience 4 years - At least 4+ years of relevant experience (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint and similar programs. Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and handle confidential materials. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty. Strong oral and written communications skills necessary to interact diplomatically and tactfully with diverse groups of people. Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers with highest level of professionalism. Ability to consider multiple variables to determine proper course of action. The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the finance department. Ability to build relationships while asking tough questions Strong time management and organizational skills Previous supervisory/leadership experience Functional Accountabilities General Financial 1. Ability to manage a portfolio of pro formas/business models and deliver results in a timely manner 2. Work with the strategy office to formulate pro formas/business plans prepared for governing committees 3. Manage decision support analysts on discounted cash flow analysis 4. Manage financial models that support the institutional financial planning 5. Manage rating agency presentations 6. Manage the finance and investment committee annual budget presentations 7. Documenting the results of the evaluations 8. Provides executives with results of financial activities 9. Developing recommendations and reports and presenting these ideas to senior management 10. Manage the day-to-day operations within finance which includes management of one decision support analyst 11. Formulating professional development and educational plans for junior staff members 12. Planning and allocating resources and individuals in accordance with skills and schedules Communications 1. Prepare documents using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. May prepare complex documents requiring the integration of multiple office technology and software applications. 2. Work (Liaise) with Business Units and/or specialty practice staff to develop value-adding information to facilitate the Finance Departments effectively partnering with internal clients. 3. Continually improve processes and facilitate the departments ability to respond to financial information needs/requests. 4. Continually explore new methods to improve operations, work with management team to gain acceptance, and support implementation efforts. 5. Communicate operational issues and progress toward goals to other members of the management team.
