Eatons Electrical Engineering Systems and Services group is currently seeking a Field Service Associate to join our team. This position is based at our Hanover, MDoffice. Eatons Engineering Service & Systems division wants to help you fuel your career! Eaton has the largest and most experienced team of field services technicians and engineers in the industry. We assist customers at every stage in the power system: offering start-up and commissioning of equipment, performing planned maintenance, monitoring performance, diagnosing system problems remotely, as well as responding to emergencies on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year. In this role you will provide support to experienced field service personnel while you develop the skills necessary to become Field Service Representative. In this function you will: Provide field service assistance to Eaton field service representatives that are performing installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, and modification of electrical power distribution equipment. Mechanical and basic testing skills will be needed to provide the necessary support. Prepare materials, test equipment and tools so that jobs are properly staged for success. Responsible for both stock and special order inventory management. Spearhead 5S is the workshop maintaining a high level or organization and cleanliness. Perform mechanical repairs on large circuit breakers. Data entry for technical reports. Complete and maintain internal safety certification Skilled proficiency in the following: Basic computer skills Drafting Experience Interest in: Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction. Mechanical skills related to cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of mechanical equipment Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Hanover, MDwill be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Drafting certification AND/OR minimum 6 months experience working with drafting software Preferred qualifications: 2-year technical degree or similar experience in military training Experience in basic testing and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable. Experiencing in wiring, reading wiring diagrams and understanding schematics. Experience with warehousing, material handling and industrial truck operation 2 or more years of electrical or mechanical industry experience or related education Position Criteria: Ability to take direction from Eaton job leads and perform maintenance of electrical equipment to include, cleaning, lubricating, and basic electrical testing using multimeter, megger, and ductor Ability to take responsibility for receiving and organization of work related material, components and test equipment, in addition to shipment and/or deliver of customer equipment. Incumbent may be required to perform the following tasks on a Frequent, Occasional or Seldom Basis: repetitive lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling, driving extended distances. Incumbent may perform service work (ie physical and mental activities) on equipment ranging from 5V DC (logic devices, zone interlocking signals, etc.) up to 750KV. They may also be required to work in extreme weather and temperature conditions from high heat and high humidity to subzero cold. Incumbent may also work at sites with areas that have poor lighting, ventilation, and dust. They may also be exposed to high noise levels. Submit to periodic customer required background and drug test screenings. On-site customer work may result in up to 10% travel.
