Job Description: We are currently seeking an Automation Engineer to provide technical expertise to design, analyze and implement strategies for continuous deployment while ensuring high availability on production and pre-production systems, requirements development, build and implementation for complex to extremely complex systems in the subject matter area. Support the technical, administrative direction Program and Project management and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Support to Test, Development and Lab environments by providing services to the organizations demonstration, piloting, development, testing, and deployment needs.Candidate must demonstrate a high degree of expertise in the area of automating enterprise infrastructure to include active directory, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Domain File Services, print services, server backup services, antivirus, server operating systems, monitoring tools, and other specialty IT systems. Expertise in the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation process of special initiatives and proposed enhancements and modifications for inclusion in Test, Development and Lab environments. All activities will ensure successful O&M of the Enterprise Lab construct to maintain the virtual, physical andInfrastructure lab environment(s). Expertise in the area of creating, maintaining, auditing, and improving systems to meet particular needs, often as advised by the architect, testing software systems to diagnose and resolve system weaknesses and make recommendations for future developments.The ideal candidate will provide senior leadership supporting the Test and Dev Technical Lead and team of engineers to provide Maintenance (O&M) Support to DoD customer Test environments by providing services to the organizations demonstration, piloting, development, testing, and deployment needs.Duties and responsibilities:Design the scripts that the team would be using while developing, testing, and monitoring the application.Identify different automation opportunities within the development process and the testing process.Provides a reliable environment for DevSecOps to operate within. Identify tools and processes required to build an efficient and effective automated environment for DevSecOpsDevelop technical briefings and reports for written and oral presentations.Provide expert knowledge and recommend innovations to enable effective and efficient solutions.Research, document, and report on upcoming technologies to determine applicability.Perform long range planning to ensure technology refresh requirements are timely.Automate installation of software making sure that all components interface correctly with each other and the network including MS desktop/server operating systems, etc. To include base software and applications installed on servers such as antivirus, desktop/system monitoring tools, , system monitoring tools, etc.Engineer and implement designs related to automating upgrades and enhancements involving all IT Infrastructure, servers, firewalls, circuits, cabling, Active Directory (AD), DNS, network monitoring tools, and other special systems.Work with other teams and groups to resolve various outages, major network issues.Write research documents detailing possible solutions addressing customer requirements to include pros and cons, estimated materials and costs, and high-level work breakdown schedule associated with each solution.Participate in CAB meetings to discuss the build and release items with the team and find roadblocks, if any.Requirements:Understanding of Software Engineering and System Development Life CycleUnderstanding of Agile methodology.Automation and Testing ToolsExcellent communication skillsExperience supporting Enterprise SystemsDevSecOps Experience a plusUnderstanding of Cloud Technologies and Modernization efforts a plusDevSecOps deployment model - Understanding of Agile methodology.
