About this Opportunity The individual in this position will represent the interests of DTCC before US Congress and federal bodies and will assist in developing and advancing DTCC positions concerning federal public policy issues. Located in Washington, DC the successful candidate will have and develop a strong network of external and internal relationships. External relationships include those with key legislative, executive and industry officials with a focus on Republican relationships. Internal relationships include DTCC's business lines and offices of Risk, Marketing and Communications, Technology, Legal and Compliance, among others. What You'll Do Help to maintain, develop and advance DTCC's government relations function, with particular focus on the United States Congress, both at the Member and staff level. Build strong relationships with key staff and elected officials to ensure that public policy issues are anticipated effectively. Track and monitor legislative activity and report to management. Find opportunities and risks for DTCC within a wide range of legislative topics related to financial services. Provide support for numerous special projects and initiatives in response to internal business unit changes, activities and issues. Assist in the development and implementation of action plans and coordinate support for a wide range of internal partners including DTCC business lines, legal, diverse talent management and acquisition, compliance, technology, finance, marketing-communications and risk management. Work with the GR team to identify, align and integrate key business units' communications initiatives pertaining to government affairs with other DTCC initiatives, with a particular focus on support of internal partners mentioned above Represent DTCC at PAC/political, legislative, industry and other events, with a focus on Republican Members of Congress on key committees and from key state delegations Help develop and execute DTCC PAC internal fundraising and giving strategy. Provide written updates for DTCC PAC donors, assist in materials prep for the DTCC PAC Board and present to Board on select topics. Oversee PAC Administration as needed Develop routine communications to inform management as to relevant developments in the federal government. Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior. **NOTE: Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. ** Sound Like You? Minimum of 7 years of related experience Bachelor's degree preferred with Master's or equivalent experience Talents Needed for Success Must have Washington-based or other relevant legislative, regulatory and/or government relations experience. Relevant experience in the US Senate, US House of Representatives, financial regulators, or existing relationships with House and Senate staff and Members a plus. Aforementioned experience with Republican Members, staff preferred. Experience and relationships with the House Financial Services Committee and/or Senate Banking Committee. Experience working on legislative and regulatory initiatives related to financial services. Experience with and understanding of the political fundraising system.
