Of critical importance to us is hiring a talented and ambitious accounting professional to serve as our first ever company Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who prefers not to be micromanaged and is seeking a role that provides the opportunity to succeed on one's own terms.Reporting to our COO, our Controller will lead and own all things related to the company's financial reporting and operations.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all facets of the company's financial operations including financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash management and reconciliation, and regulatory reportingLeads in the preparation of the company's annual budget based upon the company's goals and business plansReports monthly variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variancesPrepares monthly, weekly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational reports as neededPartners with business stakeholders to define, monitor and analyze the company's financial results, compiles key business metrics, and reports them to management Assures financial plans are consistent with organizational goalsMonitors company's financial reports and determine ways to reduce costsManages insurances including but not limited to, health insurance, general insurance, statutory disability and workers compensation insuranceInterfaces with outside parties such as tax/audit firms, banks, casualty/liability insurance agents(s), and credit card companiesEnsures statutory / tax compliance with local, state, and federal requirementsEstablishes internal control policies and best practicesAssists in any company financing efforts, including cap table management, updates to 409A valuation, and obtaining credit on favorable terms.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required, CPA is a plusThree plus years of directly related experience in professional service environmentsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteProficiency with Quickbooks OnlineBenefits100% remoteGroup health insurance401K with matchingUnlimited paid time off
