Job Description:ATCS is seeking Track Inspectors with Transit and Rail Construction experience to work in the Washington DC, Maryland and/or Virginia area. The Track Inspector will support transit and rail construction projects which may include track renewals, track construction, and track maintenance and repair. The Senior Track Inspector will possess proven abilities to monitor contractors performing construction within the railroad right-of-way, an existing station, or an operating transit facility, and will be proactively engaged to ensure that a quality product is delivered.Responsibilities:Perform field inspection, monitoring and documentation of contractor operationsBe familiar with track construction and repair techniques to expedite the project as appropriateConduct track inspections in accordance with FTA and/or FRA requirements, track standards and maintenance procedures/instructionsAssist Project Engineer, Construction Manager and/or Project Manager as neededJob Requirements: Basic Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDDemonstrable experience in railroad track system construction, maintenance, testing or inspectionSignificant experience with transit & rail operations and facilities, and familiarity with working in a government environmentAbility to pass a government background checkAdditional Qualifications:Knowledge of ballasted and embedded track construction and transit operations with respect to infrastructure maintenance and construction and railroad industry safety standardsAbility to read and comprehend safety rules, procedure and safety manuals, government regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, memos and other work-related informationComputer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets and web-based project management softwareATCS, PLC is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
