Amazon is seeking a State & Local Tax Manager to join the Corporate Tax team.The Manager of State & Local Tax works with a high level of independence, but with a great degree of collegiality, serving as a technical tax adviser to Amazon businesses.Primary duties include:* Identifying US state & local indirect tax issues related to changes in corporate operations and new business initiatives.* Researching state and local indirect tax issues including taxability of products and services.* Preparing detailed written tax guidance.* Facilitating tax department projects.* 7+ years of experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field.* Minimum of 5 years of state and local tax (emphasis on US state/local indirect tax) experience, with a public accounting firm or major law firm, and/or multinational corporation.* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field of study.Ideal candidates would possess a JD or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a CPA and/or MST, and be:* Detail-oriented, organized and able to deliver on tight timelines.* Highly motivated, hardworking, and able to work in a fast paced environment.* Able to clearly and concisely interface with all levels of management.* Able to analyze, and review statutes, regulations, and case law, as well as, extract data, and make appropriate recommendations.* Able to work effectively in a team environment both within the department as well as outside of the department.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
