Full timeManage a team of software developers to support Bloomberg Industry Group's corporate objectives. Responsible for developing and leading a high performing poly skilled team of software engineers to develop software using DEVSECOPS and Agile/ Lean principles. Work with peers and team members to create and maintain great products that support the business vision, while looking for ways to further optimize the engineering and product development process. This individual will cultivate a diverse and inclusive environment that develops, motivates, attracts, and retains talent while encouraging collaboration, innovation, and execution.PrimaryResponsibilities:Provide management, coaching and mentorship to those who report to this role to maximize team's health and effectiveness, and to optimize individuals' career growth.Work as partner with stakeholders to plan and develop roadmaps.Execute technical strategies to ensure that there is observability, stability, and scalability for the platforms they are responsible for.Provide thought leadership on modern software development best practices and can provide technical guidance and hands-on development and problem-solving assistance.Lead the craftsmanship, architecture, security, availability, resilience, scalability, performance, and cost effectiveness of the team's a culture that encourages the team to continuously grow their skills and stay on top of technology trends and participate in internal & external technology communities.Work collaboratively across the organization with stakeholders and teams to deliver against established goals.Work closely with Bloomberg Industry Group engineering leadership to coordinate technical and resource planning and acquisition.Working with INDG leadership and engineer teams to create an environment that encourages innovation, informed risk taking, and continuous learning and improvement.Leads special projects and performs other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Ability to lead engineering teams in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and a proven track record of delivery.Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both written and verbal, to technical and non- technical audiences.Ability to develop and obtain buy-in on a technical vision that compliments and enhances the business strategy.Demonstrated expertise in computer science fundamentals and building applications at-scale.Deep understanding of front end and back-end architectures used to develop high availability applications operating in a 24 x 7 environment.Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, architecture/design patterns, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.Experience developing enterprise platform.Experience developing systems using Information Engineering techniques.Working experience on AWS, Serverless, microservices.Strong knowledge on JavaScript, Node.js, Java or Python, JavaScript framework Ie React.Strong knowledge on RDS, NoSQL, Kubernetes, ECS etc.Strong knowledge on DevOps, Agile, CICD, and infrastructure as code.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to work effectively with others, including users in a team environment.Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both written and verbal, to technical and non- technical audiences.Ability to develop and obtain buy-in on a technical vision that compliments and enhances the business strategy.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, software engineering, technical writing or equivalent experience.Minimum 8years of systems-related experience, including at least 4years system analysis and 2years' experience with online and database applications is required.SpecialRequirements:N/ABloomberg Industry Group IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER and fully subscribes to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity.
