Position Summary Finance and AccountingThe position is responsible for developing, implementing, and directing Companys overall financial policies. The position has direct responsibility for all funds and financial functions within the organization, including accounting, budget, tax, and treasury. The position is responsible for overseeing the compiling, reviewing and preparation of Companys annual budget. The position is further responsible for developing tools and systems to provide critical financial and operation information to the President and Chief Executive Officer for purposes of making actionable strategic and operational decisions. The position is responsible for overseeing the products of the organization. The a division of Company has annual revenues of over $31 million and provides services to over 14,000 registered customers and affiliates globally. The position works closely with the Chief Executive, and an Advisory Committee composed of Company member company executives to oversee the strategic direction of the organization, including the ongoing review/assessment of Products business model, products, and services for purposes of significantly increasing the organizations business activities.The Chief Financial Officer interacts frequently with the Board of Directors, the Board Finance, Audit and Membership Committee and reports directly to the Company President and Chief Executive Officer. Major Duties and Responsibilities Directs organization-wide financial strategy, planning and forecasting. Engages the Board Finance, Audit and Membership Committee around issues, trends, and changes in Companys long-term financial strategy. Oversees annual budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with Companys business plan, including the compiling, reviewing and preparation of the organizations annual budget as well as the integration of Companys separately funded product and sector groups. Oversees the allocation of resources across Companys center of expertise and supporting functions to ensure adequate support for Companys separately funded product and sector groups within budget constraints of the overall budget. Makes presentations to the Board of Directors and the Board Finance, Audit and Membership Committee on financial matters of the organization. Ensures overall compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Oversees all tax compliance activities, including the preparation and filing of tax and information returns. Oversees all audit activities as well as ensures the establishment and enforcement of effective internal control safeguards. Oversees the selection, retention, management and evaluation of outside auditors and consultants. Oversees and ensures the continued success of the operation, including the development and achievement of financial and strategic goals that are aligned with the strategic priorities. Serves as a member of the senior management team and maintains responsibility for ensuring the coordination and alignment of areas of responsibility with overall ACC departments/divisions. Oversees the overall work activities of direct reports, including establishing performance objectives, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating employee development. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications/RequirementsRequired Bachelors degree in business related-field. Certified Public Accountant designation. 15 years experience in an accounting and/or finance role. Ideal : 8+ years not-for-profit or related experience. Strong written and verbal communications skills, as well as the ability to give internal and public presentations. Strong analytical skills with experience in translating a strategic vision into an operational model. Ability to cultivate and manage high quality stakeholder relationships. Ability to build consensus, work in a team environment, and coordinate across multiple groups within a large organization. Ability to process complex, technical, abstract verbal and written information for purposes of establishing strategy, direction, and action plans. Expertise as a senior-level leader with demonstrated skills in leading, coaching, and mentoring staff. Preferred Masters degree in business related-field. Knowledge of the chemical or related industry.
