Principal Risk Associate, Bank Operations

The Retail Bank Risk Advisory Team are consultants for our behind-the-scenes Bank Operations team. As a Risk Advisor you will support your business area create innovative products, services and processes that enable our customers to bank with confidence. We're Changing Banking for Good by supporting our external customers in their financial moments that matter, protecting our customers from financial threats, and protecting our business' position in the marketplace. Retail Bank Risk Advisors work in a fast paced environment independently and collaboratively, through unstructured problems and manage change while demonstrating superior problem-solving skills, strong business judgment, and executive presence.

Responsibilities
As a Principal Risk Advisor, you will:
  • Influence your business area to mitigate risk when developing well-designed products, practices, and processes
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with business area, product owners, process managers, compliance advisors, legal counsel, auditors, local technology support, and other Risk Advisors
  • Manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines, independently and with supervision and support as needed
  • Participate in and help manage work between multiple areas, engaging in various work streams
  • Be a part of delivering on our well-managed agenda
  • Oversee risk event remediation impacting customers stemming from process breakdowns or other problems, helping develop permanent corrective actions
  • Consult with your business in risk assessment identification, control building, and process remediation
  • Support second line of defense assurance effective challenge reviews, internal audits, and regulatory exams

Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of experience in risk management, product management, financial services, or technology


Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in risk management, financial services, technology, or product management
  • Professional certifications (i.e., Business Process Management certification, Lean or Green Belt Certification, CFE, CRM, CIA, )
