The Return Review Program (RRP) performs automated Identity Theft (IDT), Income verification, tax compliance and pre-refund anomaly detection and fraud detection. RRP continues to evolve and enhance system capabilities, providing greater security for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS or Government) and our nation's taxpayers, leading the charge against IDT and the filing of fraudulent returns. To keep pace with the complex, ever-evolving world of tax fraud, the RRP program has embraced the Agile framework in support of more frequent and rapid delivery. The program is improving both individual and business tax return anomaly & fraud detection with more sophisticated capabilities for data comparison/data analysis through its filters, predictive models, data visualization and using data computing appliances.
