Join the HJF Team!HJF is seeking a Super User (Systems Administrator II) in support of the Security Department, located at the Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, Maryland. The ESSAM (Electronic Security System Systems Administrator/Manager) serves as the Security Systems Administrator/Manager (SSAM) for the Electronic Security System (ESS). The incumbent will be a responsible for configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the enterprise-wide access control and video management systems. US Citizenship Required.The Super User (Systems Administrator II) must demonstrate commensurate specialized experience in managing and supporting electronic security systems administration. This position shall serve as the Video Management System and Access Control/Alarm Systems administrator and maintenance manager. The ESSAM (Electronic Security System Systems Administrator/Manager) serves as the Security Systems Administrator/Manager (SSAM) for the Electronic Security System (ESS).The Super User (Systems Administrator II) for this role must independently operate, inspect, diagnose, and perform minor repair for system problems and be capable of taking immediate actions to resolve malfunctions. Requires detailed knowledge of all hardware and software operating systems, to include maintenance of all systems, linked sensors, system configurations from front-end to end- users.Responsibilities:Oversee and certify all new work, repair work, or maintenance done on the ESS system and certifies the functionality of all equipment and capabilities installed on the system. The ESSAM will maintain the ESS database and will monitor its performance to meet the specifications of the system. 15%Issue and manage Lenel system accounts for all personnel authorized to arm and disarm individual accounts or facilities throughout the USU Complex. Also, provides basic application training to USU security personnel using ESS covering all aspects of the system functionality including alarm monitoring, intrusion detection, access control, sensor, and interior and exterior closed-circuit cameras throughout the USU Complex. 15%Implement established policies and standards for monitoring and maintaining system devices and resources. Serves as a call manager or incident resolution technician for the USU Security warranty service desk. 15%Maintain a list of personnel who may authorize access to specific rooms/areas. Provide access to individuals as requested from USU Security leadership.The ESSAM shall maintain a database for each of the following: Monthly Consolidated Routine Repair Services Report, Monthly Equipment Inventory, Preventative Maintenance, List of Standard-Operating Procedures and when last updated, Emergency Maintenance Report, and Spare Parts Inventory. 15%Oversees and certifies all work done on the system and oversees and certifies all additional equipment and capabilities installed on the system, per the established guidance. Actively participates in the planning, testing, documentation, coordination, installation, maintenance, and operation of all elements comprising the ESS and components. 20%Provides reoccurring training to USU Security personnel on the use and monitoring ESS. 20%Attends meetings involving the physical security of the USU Complex as needed, including updating and maintaining ESS drawings.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance and participation in required training for role.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Security integration hardware and software installation. Troubleshooting, configuration, administration of Internet Protocol (IP) based electronic security systems, including access control, video systems and intrusion detection. General functional responsibilities of device configuration, programming, installation, and maintenance of IP based electronic security systems, including cable, access control card readers and data gathering panels. Video management software and network video recording platforms, as well as design and initial implementation.Incumbent must independently operate, inspect, diagnose, and perform minor repair for system problems and be capable of taking immediate actions to resolve malfunctions. Requires detailed knowledge of all hardware and software operating systems, to include maintenance of all systems, linked sensors, system configurations from front end to end users. Incumbent must have exceptional customer service skills.Minimum Education / Experience / Training Requirements: Associate's degree with 6-8 years of experience or High School with 9-11 years of experience.Required Licenses, Certification or Registration: Other professional licensures, certifications, or designations required: Vendor training/certification preferred (eG MCSE) but not required.Incumbent must have experience operating on an integrated access control software. Lenel certification/experience is preferred, however experience with Software House/SensorMatic, AMAG, Hirsch, and MDI will be considered.Incumbent must have experience operating a video management system. Milestone certification/experience is preferred, however experience with Bosch, Axis, Pelco or Avigilon video management systems will be considered.The ESSAM will be certified by Lenel and Milestone as a Direct Support System User.
