The Senior Content Marketing Manager will support the director in developing and executing upon HMH s content strategy, critical to demand generation. You will be a key player in managing top of funnel to mid-funnel efforts: managing and creating content for our blog Shaped, eBooks, and more to attract users and nurture them down funnel. This role will be a liaison with the demand gen and SEO teams to execute and ensure that web copy and content incorporates SEO keywords, page titles, and tags. You will partner with the demand generation team and make data-driven decisions to enhance our content strategy and execution. In addition, you will work with HMH s authors and thought leaders to create content and serve as a writer and editor in the CMS. You will develop content marketing and copywriting efforts across HMH s K-12 business, helping to build upon HMH s strong reputation as a leader in the education technology market and drive leads for core curriculum, intervention, and services businesses.Primary Responsibilities A key player in managing top of funnel and mid-funnel content that supports our inbound strategy. Manages and creates blog content, eBooks, and white papers to attract users and push them down funnel. Continually maintains the editorial calendar and partners with the Demand Gen team in support of K 12 lead generation campaigns, based on a deep understanding of audience, messaging, business objectives, market research, and product positioning. Creates content that supports our digital transformation and positions HMH as leading education technology company. Writes original content and interviews sources. Manages relationships with authors, bloggers, and podcast guests to produce content, manage their contracts, and serve as editor and proofreader. Maintains editorial style guide and upholds editorial standards. Edits content to ensure consistency in style and voice. Collaborates with the SEO director, demand gen, social media, product marketing and corporate communications teams to ensure that copy aligns with campaigns and meets marketing goals. Coordinates with the SEO team and optimizes our website content with SEO keywords ensuring users gain awareness of HMH and our solutions Continually manages content hands-on within the CMS. Collaborates effectively with design and other stakeholders to make content publication ready. Plans, writes, and approves our monthly newsletter for an audience of teachers and administrators to increase engagement. Supports podcast production efforts. Coordinates with Account Managers and the design team to facilitate the execution of content marketing pieces that require visual storytelling. Analyzes blog performance / user engagement and makes data-driven decisions to continually improve our content strategy and customer engagement. Education & ExperienceEducation Level and or relevant experienceRequired Bachelor s degree or higher 7+ years in content strategy and development; a journalism, editorial, or communications background strongly preferred. Experience marketing B2B solutions (education publishing industry preferred) Magement experience is a plus! Knowledge and skills (general and technical) Superb communication, writing & presentation skills Strong cross-functional, project management skills Strong knowledge of SEO writing and tagging Detail-oriented Self-starter and creative thinker able to thrive in a fast-paced environment Deep understanding of content channels, as well as their associated audiences and platform limitations Well versed in all content types including, but not limited to: long-form content marketing pieces such as eBooks and blogs, web copy, podcasts, videos, and visual storytelling through graphics and photo Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training, physical or mental abilities required) Experience working in a CMS Knowledge of Google Analytics and/or Salesforce a plus Physical Requirements Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing). The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to collaborate with colleagues.
