We serve because health is everything.Our commitment: Empower patients at all stages of life through an unmatched, high-quality, affordable healthcare experience.Position Summary:An important member of the Marketing and Communications team, this position will assist the team in developing public relations and outreach strategies that to drive visibility, awareness, and interest in the organization across a variety of audiences.Please note that this is not a remote work position. You will be required to report to our offices in downtown Silver Spring. Our hours are 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work required. As the PR and Outreach Specialist, you are expected to:Public RelationsIdentify media opportunities and maintain existing media relations. Arrange press activities, including interviews, event appearances, and press conferences. Respond to media requests. Actively engage the press and develop pitches on opportunities to position CCI as a resource on health equity, public health, community health, etc. Maintain and update the CCI press kit, online and in print. Contribute to the development of key messaging and talking points. Contribute to the development and execution of creative internal marketing/communications to keep staff across the health center locations appraised of new services, staff offerings, new hires, and more. Regularly communicate cross-departmentally to learn more about ongoing and new services and initiatives. Establish goals and objectives to track, evaluate, and report on the results of PR efforts.Support the development of a CCI speakers bureau, including assisting in media training of staff.OutreachMaintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities. Assist in the preparation of an annual budget for community outreach activities. Nurture new and old relationships with collaborative partners. Schedule regular outreach exhibitions in the community and educate employees on community responsibility. Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations, schools, etc. and assists with community activities that support CCI's mission. May include identifying and preparing staff to participate in community events. Three or more years of public relations, marketing or communications experience. Community outreach experience, preferably at a non-profit or mission-driven organization. Must be a relationship builder and have the ability to work across departments, independently and as a team. Excellent communications skills are a must. Ability to problem-solve and resourcefulness are essential. Bilingual a plus.
