Summary

About the Position: Kimbrough is the headquarters of the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC), Fort George G. Meade, includes a number of U.S. Army health clinics, occupational health clinics, telemedicine, behavioral health, allergen extract lab, drug testing labs, and environmental health clinics at several installations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, & District of Columbia. Kimbrough provides primary care, selected specialty care & same day surgery for TRICARE Prime patients.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and direct work
  • Determine the need and equipment to provide appropriate life support.
  • Recognize, stabilize and treat a wide variety of medical emergencies.
  • Respond on-site to accidents and other emergencies involving injuries and illnesses.
  • Operate emergency transport vehicle and uses telephone and radio communications equipment and systems.
  • Operate the various items of equipment used by the ambulance service
  • Respond on-site to accidents and other emergencies involving injury and illnesses, sometimes encounters situations which may be life threatening.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes scheduling assignment, hiring, dealing with HR/union relations, and/or participating in interdisciplinary planning meeting; and responding to emergencies; providing emergency treatment involving injury and illness, transporting injured patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
