Responsibilities

Serves as a Lead Commissary Support Clerk in a commissary store at a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility. The primary purpose of this position is Serves as a working leader of a group of at least three or more employees performing store-level work in accounts and price maintenance and, as assigned, supply work..

Position responsibilities include:
  • Distributes and balances the workload among employees, assuring timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
  • Provides on-the-job training in specific tasks and job techniques.
  • Recommends changes in work methods to improve timeliness or quality of work performed by employees.
  • Provides input to supervisor on employee performance, conduct and training needs.
  • Monitors the status of work and makes adjustments in accordance with established priorities.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position your resume and supporting documents must show that you meet the following:

You must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 grade level that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must be at GS-04 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. OR Applicants must have completed four years of education beyond the high school level from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education (https://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/) and in an appropriate field of study as described elsewhere in this announcement. OR A combination of experience and education equaling 100% of the qualifications.

Examples of quaifying experiene: Oversight of lower graded workers. Provididng on-the-job training. Knowledge of departemtns within a grocery stroe ( dairy, grocery, meat, produce. Knowledge in running a cash register.

Education

Education used to qualify for this position must be from an accredited school or educational institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and a copy of your transcript is required as part of your application package. *A written document from the armed forces certifying the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions not later than 120 days after the date the certificate is signed. The certification must be on letterhead signed by the adjutant, personnel officer, unit commander or higher headquarters and include your rank, dates of active duty service, type of discharge, character of service, and, if applicable, the date your terminal leave begins. This document is sometimes called a Statement of Service.

Notes for those claiming veterans' preference:
1. Failing to submit all required documents may affect adjudication of your veterans' preference claim.
2. Active duty military members who are selected may not be appointed to a position unless on terminal leave or already separated.
3. You are required to provide your final DD214 upon issuance, if it was not part of your application package.
