Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world. Working from site, the Civil/Structural Engineer will manage and focus on the quality assurance and control of the project installation in Washington, DC. The project is a gas-fired 4.8 MW COGEN plant supporting the NAVFACs Naval Research Laboratory. In addition, you will ensure that the quality control programs are in place and the standards are being met.You will primarily oversee the general works of the subcontractors. The contract is from July 2021 to Feb 2022. Key responsibilities: Oversight of subcontractor Inspection of work to ensure compliance with contract requirements Quality control of civil activities Review and monitoring of project schedule Scheduling and chairing of weekly project review and QC meetings Preparing meeting minutes and weekly reports Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications To be successful in the role: Degree of Civil/ Structural Engineering or Construction Management Five years of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, or Project Engineer on a similar construction project Must have five years minimum experience in civil works gained from energy, power, or from oil and gas industry Complete the course entitled "Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors" and maintain a current certificate (can be done after hiring) Proficient in both written and verbal English Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills is required Must lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits) Planate Management Group is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
