The Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the firms communications and marketing activities across internal and external platforms, including websites, e-marketing, social media, and intranets.Duties include creating, editing, and formatting public relations and marketing content, managing the firms digital platforms, creating and distributing email blasts, drafting press releases and awards nominations, and managing social media accounts. The position, which is within the firms Marketing and Business Development department, reports to the Senior Manager of Communications and works closely with the Marketing Technology Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supports firm communications channels, including websites, intranet, thought leadership, e-marketing, social media, presentations, press releases, and award nominationsResearches, recommends, and implements processes and updates related to the firms websites and social media feedsAssists in maintaining firms contact database and list creation, including media listMaintains attorney biographiesTracks and reports on performance of communications programsSupports other marketing projects as necessaryWorks overtime as neededPerformance Traits: Strong writer and editor. Broad conceptual grasp of marketing and communications best practices. Strong initiative and proactive approach to managing projects, often independently. Embraces the all-hands-on-deck approach that our small, highly professional team depends on to fulfill its mission, and prizes learning just about anything and everything.Skills:Excellent written and oral communications. Work in website content management systems (Drupal and Wordpress) a plus. Able to plan and execute B2Bcampaigns for social media and other digital communication channels (eg blogs, podcasts, video). Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required; familiarity with image/video/audio editing software is helpful. Job Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelors degree in marketing or related field. Minimum of one year of experience; previous law firm or professional services experience a plus.
