An Overview of the Position The Financial Analyst and & Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial analysis projects to include Corporate, program and project control and overseeing the processing of company payroll for a small and growing federal defense contractor.What You'll Be Doing System AdministrationAdminister the companys ERP and Financial Accounting Systems (currently PROCAS) including configuration, creation of projects/jobs and all associated data fields, and control of user access.Accounting and FinanceAccounts Payable. Complete day-to-day activities for Accounts Payable.Oversee expense reporting procedures and processes. Complete year-end creation, distribution and filing of 1099 forms.Fiscal Period Close.Enter monthly prepaid and other accrual entries.Ensure all time and expense reporting is complete and accurate.Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.Execute and/or manage all finance and accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.Execute month-end and year-end close process.Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.Develop financial reports, and conduct financial analysis designed to provide project managers with timely financial information for making operational decisions, including analysis and guidance.Monitors and analyzes accounting allocation and spending data to determine financial resources required to develop budgets.Tracks expenses, inventories, and budget balances.Measures actual performance against budget.Prepares forecasting reports and trend analysis.Develops recommendations for budget allocations that conform with budgetary policies and limits.Research financial record-keeping and reporting requirements and ensures that systems are modified to meet these requirements. Establishes best practices for financial systems use and ensures that these practices are used throughout the organization. Supports the Program Management Office (PMO) that oversees the program and project control of an organization.Collects data and prepares organization-wide project status analysis and reporting.Coordinates efforts to optimize cross-project resources.Participates in the financial auditing and assessment of completed projects and the development of future project roadmaps.Payroll Administration Oversee and/or complete biweekly payroll processes, including oversight of timekeeping procedures and processes, entry of time in payroll system, maintenance of compensations, deductions, taxes, etc. and creation of checks and transfer of ACH/NACHA file to bank.Oversee and/or complete withholding and unemployment filings, both periodic and quarterly.Oversee and/or complete year-end creation, distribution and filing of W2 forms.Ensures accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Prepares statistical reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses, vacation, sick time, disability and workers compensation leave, and taxes/withholdings, etc. Misc. ItemsExecute, oversee, manage other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Ensures proper governmental reporting and compliance.Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), federal acquisition regulations (FAR), and cost accounting standards (CAS).What You'll Need to be Successful Five years documented qualifying experience in the areas of financial management, program control, budgeting, and payroll for government contractors.
