Position Description Will evaluate and recommend best-fit, commercially available, and FedRAMP-compliant cloud services utilizing various cloud models (ie, public, private, hybrid) to support NOAA's Operations, Maintenance and Sustainment (OMS) mission and specific business, technical, and security requirements. Develop architecture solutions and evaluate alternatives for private, public, and hybrid cloud models, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and other cloud services. Research and recommend cloud architecture that will enhance internal and external platforms, tools, and systems. Develop architectural strategies/solutions to ensure high application availability in both hybrid (on-premises/cloud) and fully cloud hosted to provide an 'always on' experience. Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud end-to-end architecture, including current and future providers, networking, provisioning, and management. Required Skills 10+ years network design experience with 5 years of cloud Amazon Web Services (AWS) and software-defined networking (SDN) experience. Demonstrated technical leadership, especially in NOAA or similar cloud adoption, with a proven track record of large-scale cloud implementation. Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility. Education MS in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent.
