In this role, you will provide the technology leadership for the Platform Services Center of Excellence. Our team motto is "Build the right things, and build them right." What you will need to bring for this position: Experience developing, organizing and governing APIs / streams in an enterprise environment Passion for and expertise in how great architectural design accelerates innovation across apps, devices, and people Demonstrated ability to balance organizational risk appetite with innovation need Demonstrated history of cross-company, cross-discipline consensus building and influence A passion for an proven track record of working across organizations to build consensus and drive progress A detailed understanding of tools, trends, and patterns within the software architecture community, particularly with APIs Clear and concise communication across all levels and technical depths Responsibilities: Evolve a program of identifying, promoting, and maturing sustainable architectural patterns at Capital One, primarily on APIs Evangelize necessity of better design practices throughout architectural lifecycle management Demonstrate thought leadership both internally and externally Monitor competitors and industry to position strategy, anticipate market dynamics, and ensure resilient, long-lived practices Provide clear, actionable program advice to internal developer community Identify necessary product, tooling, and resourcing needs Access business drivers and apply them to appropriate architectural recommendation Reconcile disparate approaches across differing groups Revisit and refine ecosystem success metrics Work with team experts to develop training materials, training sessions, and training programs Coach and develop team members into fulfilling and career-defining work Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree At least 9 years' experience in software engineering development At least 7 years' experience building and leading engineering teams Preferred Qualifications: 15 years' experience in software development 8 years' experience in Agile practices 8 years' experience building software in an enterprise environment 3 years' experience with Amazon Web Services Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
