Sterile Processing Technician (Evenings) Requisition #: 399691 Location: Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, DC 20001 Category: Allied Health/Clinical Professional Work Shift: Evening Shift Work Week: Full Time Weekend Work Required: Yes Date Posted: Aug. 3, 2021 The Sterile Processing Technician will possess advanced knowledge and skill necessary to prepare and distribute sterile supplies and equipment for use in the care and treatment of patients. He/she is responsible to ensure all phases of the sterilization/distribution process for instrumentation/supplies are followed according to department and hospital protocols. The SPD Tech will facilitate the flow of instrumentation and equipment priorities for sterilization and maintaining clear communication with impacted departments. Location: Washington DC Full time - Evenings 3:00p - 11:30p with every other weekend Eligible for $3000 sign on bonus Minimum Education and Experience: High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Must be able to read and write English. Understanding of medical/surgical terminology required. Basic computer skills. Completion of a Sterile Processing Course preferred Certification as Sterile Processing Technician required. If not certified at hire certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire date.
