Reports to the Center Director and is a salaried, exempt position. Responsible for administration of Human Resource programs involving compensation; rewards; corporate assessments; policy management and general administration. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: workplace relations and ethics; information management; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independent living.Duties and Responsibilities:Administers recruitment, screening and hiring program for all center staff.Ensures compliance with all contractual requirements relative to the human resources function.Monitors all personnel and employment practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.Supervises preparation of all reports required by contract and Management.Conducts wage and salary surveys, job analyses and writes job descriptions.Administers wage and salary program; monitors merit increase program to ensure internal equity.Administers employee benefits program.Initiates Center human resources directives.Monitors Center worker's compensation and OSHA programs.Administers tuition refund assistance program.Develops and implements an effective new hire orientation program.Develops and implements staff development and training program.Prepares and conducts performance evaluations.Attends in-service training sessions.Provides staff training to center management personnel as it relates to Human Resources.Adheres to all aspects of Quality Assurance Plan.Cultivate and maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency.Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adhere to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.Performs other duties as assigned.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by a person in this position. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or another related field required; PRH preferred. Labor relations experience and supervisory experience preferred.Additional Requirements: Skilled in policy administration, compensation, and rewards management. Must be able to conduct data analysis relating to human resources metrics. Ability to compose descriptive reports; use appropriate techniques to implement programmatic activities; verbally direct individuals and groups; remedy dysfunctional behavior; intervene with students in crisis with aggression control/ safe physical management restraint techniques. Ability to successfully complete mandated training courses. Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English. Ability to operate a personal computer. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Position requires an ability to drive an automobile. In addition, individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.Working Conditions: This position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and kneeling. Occasionally, position involves sitting, stooping, carrying, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Applicant must be able to see, hear, and speak.Environmental Demands: Position requires ability to spend 5% of work time outside and 95% of work time indoors; ability to withstand moderate noise levels, including voice levels 90% of work time; ability to work in high temperature settings during the summer months; and ability to work in low temperature settings in winter months.Employee BenefitsEckerd wants your career to be as rewarding as possible.
