The VP, Chief Risk Officer is responsible for all aspects of risk management and analysis across the MissionSquare Retirement complex to guide management in achieving organizational and financial objectives consistent with our mission and values. The VP provides an overall quantitative and qualitative evaluation of business units, and at an enterprise level, to aid senior management and the Board of Directors in understanding all conceivable forms of risks on current and longer-term business operations and strategic initiatives. The VP will seek innovative ways to manage and mitigate risks throughout MissionSquare Retirement as an industry leader. Essential Functions/Activities: Responsible for developing and obtaining approval of a formal and documented best practice corporate risk policy framework. Responsible for the overall direction of the risk management function in and across all business units with a particular focus on technology, investments, marketing (PM&D), operations, and finance, and the development of appropriate mechanisms to report risk. Serve as champion and catalyst for consistent risk management and mitigation practices across the MissionSquare Retirement complex. Build strong working relationships with compliance, legal, internal audit, human resources, finance, new initiatives and senior management to anticipate and ensure a detailed awareness of enterprise risk profile. Evaluate new initiatives, products and strategies for their impact on MissionSquare Retirement's risk profile. Partner with business units to promote self-assessment of each unit s risk profile as part of MissionSquare Retirement's overall risks, including stated controls and identifying gaps requiring action plans for resolution. Counsel senior management in the identification of risk trends by developing and implementing key risk indicators (KRIs) and other metrics to provide a strategic view of risk. Responsible for all business insurance in the MissionSquare Retirement complex, including subsidiaries and affiliated entities. Direct the financial evaluation of key vendors and service providers. Provide guidance and oversight to subsidiaries and affiliated entities in the management of their key risks. Regularly report to senior management and the Board of Directors through the Audit and Oversight Committee, as appropriate. Develop, lead and manage an effective team of high performing professionals to execute MissionSquare Retirement's vision on risk management at a divisional and enterprise level. Be an effective advocate and spokesperson for MissionSquare Retirement on risk issues and risk management strategies. Other duties as assigned based on corporate needs.
