The CFO is responsible for managing all hands-on financial aspects of the company. Assists the CEO in the successful growth of the company. Through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives of company, the CFO provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper assets, internal controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES The primary responsibilities of this position are: Work closely with the CEO to accomplish the goals, objectives and strategic plan established in cooperation with the Board of Directors. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of our organization. Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all business processes internal and external. Provides timely, accurate and complete monthly reports on the operating condition of the company. Develops accounting standards and procedures to assure uniform accounting practices, internal controls, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for the development and maintenance of all contract and grant budgets in collaboration with Program management and external stakeholders Responsible for the development of the organizational annual budget Coordinates financial procedures for cost accounting, general accounting, and billing procedures for program directors. Manage third party outsourced back-office accounting and payroll team to ensure accurate financial processes. Additional duties and responsibilities: Prepares financial reports (accounting statements, balance sheets, 437, 438, etc.) as required by collecting and analyzing account information. Responsible for the filing of the annual IRS Form 990 Responsible for the annual audit (GAAP and Single-Audit) Develop internal and external communications and reports as needed. Responsible for management of contracts with external constituents. Responsible for capital planning and expenditures. Responsible for forward looking financial forecasting and projections and what-if scenarios Serves as a resource for 401K and payroll related concerns. Serves as the lead of the Board of Directors finance committee. Responsible for the modeling, pricing and financial negotiations for any new contract/grant. Responsible for management of all real estate leases. Work closely with VP of Operations, VP of Programs, and HR on strategic initiatives. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensures: Bachelors degree in Finance and/or Accounting required. Active CPA license required. Minimum five years business management experience. Extensive administrative background. 2-4 years of grant accounting experience 2-4 years of experience in a lead non-profit finance role KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong business acumen and relationship building skills among diverse personalities, building trust and credibility with senior level management. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people. Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with demonstrated passion for HCAMS mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals. Solid judgment and leadership skills. A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment. An individual who is able to handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities.
