Directs the operations of CVIR services. Leads and coordinates key strategic development and functional services to support strategic objectives and organizational goals within the CVIR service line. Maintains effective and responsive relationships with patients, attending medical staff, and other departments. Manages department finances, including budgeting and control of salary, non-salary, and capital investment expenses. Manages finances, including budgeting and control of salary, non-salary, and capital investment expenses for CVIR departments. Manages professional and clerical staff, including day-to-day supervision, employee relations, and staff development. Oversees CVIR outcomes and operations. Serves as leader over the CVIR service line, and provides oversight for procedural areas, outpatient services, and research specific to the CVIR service line. The Director collaborates closely with the Medical Directors of CVIR services and hospital leadership to develop and execute strategies to meet goals on patient satisfaction, financial growth, and performance, quality, and safety, employee engagement. The Director of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology (CVIR) is the leader over the service line and provides oversight for procedural areas, outpatient services, and research specific to this department. The position is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, promoting, and evaluating all components of the CVIR service line. This includes daily operations, staffing, physician collaboration, developing and executing strategic and business plans to support the growth and development of the CVIR service line; positioning the program as a regional competitor in providing full CVIR services, including interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, echocardiography, noninvasive peripheral vascular modalities, and other related services as necessary. The Director collaborates closely with the Medical Directors of CVIR services and hospital leadership to develop and execute strategies to meet goals on patient satisfaction, financial growth, and performance, quality, and safety, employee engagement. Provides oversight and leadership for the following areas: IR Labs, Cath Labs, EP Lab, Recovery Unit, Cardiac and Vascular diagnostic testing center. Directs the operations of CVIR services. Leads and coordinates key strategic development and functional services to support department objectives and organizational goals.Position ResponsibilitiesResponds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit, and maintains cooperative relationship with corresponding department(s) at other operating units.Serves as a member of Patient Care Leadership, Shared Leadership Councils and contributes to the decision-making process in nursing services.Serves as a member of Nursing Staff Committees and Task Forces as assigned.Ensures adherence to Service Excellence standards and provision of outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.Participates in educational and promotional activities in the Inova System as evidenced by increased awareness in the community.Directs the operations of CVIR services. Leads and coordinates key strategic development and functional services to support department objectives and organizational goals.Oversees the day-to-day operation of all perioperative-related activities.Organizes, monitors, and coordinates all QA and QI activities.Establishes and maintains standards of CVIR practice that assure quality patient care.Ensures that department/functional operations are in full compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.Actively participates in the Inova Health System Continuous Quality Improvement process.Measures and reports performance levels to appropriate entities.Achieves above-average performance levels as evidenced in reports.Implements data reporting systems for cardiac and interventional radiology services.
