The Data Modeler is a highly technical position and responsible for leading the development, validation, publishing, and maintenance of logical and physical data models required to implement grid resiliency business processes and solutions. This job role will collaborate with an Information Architect to design data models (eg, Data-at-Rest and Data-in-Motion models), which will meet grid resiliency requirements. The Data Modeler will be expected to demonstrate data modeling best practices, cross-industry data expertise, and data modeling tool expertise. The Data Modeler will be responsible for creating and maintaining conceptual, logical and physical data models and will be creating one or more data models depending on use cases including transactional, integration, data warehouse and analytical systems.Translate business requirements into data models conceptual logical and physical to support big data platform solutionsWork with the Application Development team to implement data strategies build data flows and develop conceptual data modelsCreate logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality reduce redundancy and optimize performanceDesigns logical enterprise wide data modelsDevelop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data modelsRecommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environmentsValidate business data objects for accuracy and completenessAnalyze data related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutionsEvaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepanciesProvides support for master data management logical data quality system development implementation and maintenanceMakes recommendations for process improvements in order to support data integrity effortsOptimize update and maintain logical and physical data models source to target mappings to support new and existing projectsStrong communications skills verbal and written and the ability to effectively communicate design recommendations to a varied audienceBuild positive team dynamics by understanding usability and design principlesRequirementsBachelor"s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science , Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience required; Master's degree preferredUnderstanding of DAMA-DMBOK or CDMP certificationAt least 3 years of experience in Data modelling and Data mapping skillsHands-on experience SQLExperience working with the FIB-DM industry modelExperience performing data discovery analysis and profilingExperience creating source to target mappings for both batch and real time dataAbility to work in team in diverse multiple stakeholder environmentStrong consulting and communication skillsAbility to work effectively with various organizations in pursuit of problem solutionsTS/SCI + PolyBenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Short Term & Long Term DisabilityTraining & Development
