As our next Human Resources Generalist – Employee Experience, you will focus extensively on the entire employee life cycle, from orientation and onboarding to training, development, engagement, and off-boarding. You will be integral in providing a top-notch professional, engagement-focused experience for new hires and current employees at AEI, all while collaborating extensively with professionals in public policy research. You will also provide broad human resources support for a robust workforce of 260-plus employees, delivering optimal, efficient services in all stages of the employee experience. Responsibilities

  • Build and implement strategic onboarding and off-boarding programs, including efficient workflows and processes; plan and execute engagement events related to onboarding and off-boarding; lead the onboarding and off-boarding processes, developing workflows and ensuring completion of appropriate paperwork while maintaining internal systems and databases
  • Facilitate training and learning opportunities on AEI mission, culture, policies, and procedures and on professionalism in the workplace with employees; lead and execute special events such as organization-wide meetings, financial wellness events, wellness events, professional development events, employee recognition events, employee social events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations; collaborate with teammates and various internal AEI teams to consolidate, build, and roll out an AEI-focused curriculum
  • Provide broad support for special projects, including the creation of performance management processes and systems, knowledge management systems, job description databases, workforce benchmarking, and other assignments and projects depending on the employee's interest areas and business need
  • Build programs and systems to automate and streamline HR functions and offerings, including office space allocation, organizational charts, and other rosters as needed; assist in the selection and implementation of and training with software and systems such as HRMS, ATS, etc.
  • Assist with the administration of broad human resource programs, including but not limited to: compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; investigations; performance and talent management; productivity; recruiting; recognition and culture; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Provide assistance to HR team members on other tasks and assignments as needed and perform other related duties based on business need and the employee's desired learning


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in public policy and the mission of AEI
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple and simultaneous deadlines
  • Strong technology skills (high proficiency in Microsoft Office required, and experience with iCIMS or other ATS preferred)
  • Experience launching new employee programs and HCM systems preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, liberal arts, human resources, or related discipline
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR a plus
  • At least three to four years of experience in an HR generalist role, program administration, or related field
