Are you ready to join an innovative team committed to making a meaningful impact in hematology? The American Society of Hematology (ASH) is looking for a Business Development Manager to support all areas of business development, with a special focus on driving sustainable financial growth, boosting sales, and forging strong relationships with clients through new customer acquisition and increased current customer spend. He/she must be able to identify, develop, and maintain high quality relationships with ASH colleagues and corporate entities to attract and sustain partnerships to support ASHs strategic direction and initiatives. The Manager will manage the corporate outreach pipeline, participate in and coordinate partnership proposals and negotiations, and ensure appropriate follow up throughout the partnership lifecycle. The position is collaborative, requiring the ability to work effectively with other departments and corporate entities to meet organizational and department goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the point of contact and strategic consultant for corporate engagement within assigned portfolio of accounts and relationships, maintaining a focus on maximizing revenue, building customer loyalty and confidence, while promoting ASH strategic and research priorities.Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of ASH and the ASH RCs strategic priorities and programming efforts across all departments.Represent ASH at all levels within the business community, cultivating, nurturing, and developing relationships at the international, national, and regional levels to further business objectives.Participate in partner/client meetings, working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure deep and broad-based understanding of ASHs impact and how ASH can strategically support partners business objectives.Manage a pipeline by leading all partnership activity, including coordinating strategy and ongoing partnership engagement to convert leads, owning all aspects of ongoing new business cultivation and negotiation strategy.Support the design, presentation, and execution of specific year-round engagement opportunities as well as multi-year development action plans to ensure cultivation of relationships that drive revenue growth.Collaborate with Business Development team members to continually expand, enhance, and refine service offerings to strategically optimize opportunities and assets in changing environments.Contribute to the creation of global proactive marketing campaigns designed to strengthen perceptions among key stakeholders and increase consumer consideration of ASH, then oversee execution of these campaigns. Proactively manage emerging and existing issues that may have an impact on overall business performance.Develop and monitor metrics to measure the effectiveness of corporate relations initiatives.Research current issues and trends in corporate citizenship and emulate and adapt world-class practices through benchmarking techniques. Engage in problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making to reach target results through strategy implementation.Attend relevant industry meetings to keep abreast of market and industry trends.Ensure that principles of efficiency, economy, and quality are utilized in all work.Occasional attendance at and/or support of ASH-sponsored meetings and events outside of normal working hours (evenings and/or weekends)Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIRED Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or other related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience:account management, customer service, marketing, and sales, preferably in a startup or non-profit environment. Must be able to work constructively with vendors, customers, and staff in other departments.Proven ability to design and implement marketing strategies.Strong inter-personal skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple urgent projects. Self-motivator, but also a team player. High level of organization skills and ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines. Effective negotiator.Excellent oral and written communications skills.In-depth knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office suite.Proficiency in Salesforce is preferred. Knowledge of financial reporting is required.Travel required as needed.Special note: As you consider this career opportunity, please know that the ASH staff is currently working remotely full-time.We plan to return to our office as our primary work environment in the near future, a specific date has not yet been confirmed.We plan to be in the office Tuesday thru Thursday each week and allow telework under our new policy on Mondays and Fridays, except when meetings or other duties require in-person engagement on Mondays and Fridays.Also, when we return to our office in October or later, ASH policy will require all staff to be fully vaccinated.If an ASH employee requires an exemption based on a disability or sincerely held religious belief, our policy will provide a formal process for pursing the exemption.by Jobble
