Overview Novant Health UVA is seeking a Nurse Manager to support our Cardiac Cath Lab at Prince William Medical Center. This position will help oversee two labs for an organization nationally recognized as being a leader in heart and vascular care. $10,000 signing bonus for eligible candidates *Seeking a RN or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)* Novant Health is seeking a Cath Lab Nurse Manager, you would serve as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their support system. Looking for an innovative leader for the Cath Lab (2 labs) - Responsibilities will include hiring, training, performance evaluations, professional development, patient flow, patient/staff scheduling, policy and procedure development, departmental processes, team work with Supply chain in inventory management, positive working relationships with physicians and collaboration with other departments. Supports Cardiologists with service delivery and resources. Ensures that the project/department milestones/goals are met and budgets are approved/adhered to and that quality control, safety, and compliance with regulations is achieved. Disease Specific Certification experience a plus. The position may require staffing support if needed. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, be current in ACLS and will have at least 3-5 years experience in the related area, with 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience for Invasive Cardiology procedures. Position also encompasses oversight of Echo and EKG technologists. The Heart and Vascular Invasive Lab Manager functions as the first-line administrative leader, with 24-hour accountability for care delivery for assigned departments. With support from supervisors and/or team leads, the manager directly supervises the personnel assigned to the department(s). He/She ensures the effective daily operations on a 24-7 basis by monitoring all activities necessary to provide consistent safe, high-quality care to include team member, physician and patient satisfaction, strategic planning, marketing, budget development and compliance, performance improvement (disease specific certifications, other quality initiatives), charge master and computerized inventory management. In this role the manager will coordinate the activities of staff, is accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the unit and team members, as well as treatments, plans of care, and ensures clinical pathways are being carried out in a consistent manner. The manager has knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations that govern clinical practice and must exercise sound judgment in adapting and applying leadership and clinical principles to specific situations. The manager must be able to navigate proficiently within the EHR. He/She must be able to clinically assist with patient care and be able to function in the charge role if indicated. The manager relies on experience, judgment and collaboration to plan and accomplish goals. The manager assists in the advancement of the professional practice environment by communicating the NHUVA strategic direction and focusing on activities that support the strategic direction. Provides support for staff engagement and quality teams including coaching team members in their professional participation. Assists with overall clinical governance and other projects as assigned. Qualifications * *Experience: *Minimum of two years clinical RN or RCIS experience in an acute care setting required. Five years Cath/EP lab experience, with a minimum of two years of leadership experience. * *Licensure/certification/registration: *Current RN licensure OR RCIS certification required. BLS required. Prior demonstrated leadership preferred. * *Additional skills required:* Understands and applies: current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; skills in interviewing and selection process; understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes; implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; principles of change management. * *Additional skills preferred:* Board certification in area of practice.
