Old Dominion Animal Health Center is a busy, 5-doctor small animal general practice looking for qualified and motivated LVTs or experienced veterinary nurses to join our team.Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm and Saturdays 8 am to 4 pm.Responsibilities include all aspects of patient care, including surgery prep and recovery, radiology, blood draws, cytology, dentistry (including dental radiology), administering medication and treatments as prescribed by the doctors, and client communication.LVTs will also administer and monitor anesthesia, place IV catheters and perform subgingival scaling on dental patients.The ideal candidate will:Have excellent communication skills.Show initiative to continue his/her education and have excellent follow-through skills.Stay calm and efficient during a medical crisisEnjoy working with people and animals and be able to deal with animals even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.Be flexible in attitude and work habits.Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying animals up to 40 pounds (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs).
