This position will be Associate Director Transaction Operations with primary responsibility for leading a team of analysts and managers in servicing for our asset/loan portfolio. This individual will be expected to learn and become proficient at the use of the companys servicing software and its related systems. Working with cross-functional teams, this individual will build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to coordinate and carry out contract onboarding, terminations, and amendments. In addition, this individual will identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for process improvements and refine tasks towards operational efficiency. The Associate Director will report to and work closely with the Managing Director Transaction Operations to evolve the teams strategic vision and implement changes accordingly while also partnering with the Middle Office in the Portfolio Management department. This position is based in Annapolis, MD. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Resource management, including: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing internal and external complaints, and resolving issues Provide hands-on management to the day-to-day operation of the Transaction Operations team Actively participate in developing and implementing the strategic direction of the team Develop, implement, and see through mission-critical projects to successful completion Identify and researching daily cash deposits Post of cash receipts and disbursements in subledger system Direct cash disbursements through direction letters and investor servicer certificates Onboard new transactions into subledger system and setting up for ongoing servicing Monitor government payment systems for collections Monitor and track invoicing, funding contracts and modifications to contracts Proactively and continuously reach out to vendors and government agencies for status updates on projects and collections Perform bank reconciliations and reporting Deliver Investor Trust Reporting Manage transaction history maintenance, such as maintaining and updating various tracking spreadsheets and schedules Engage in general correspondence with internal departments and external parties including banks, auditors, vendors, government agencies, and other counterparties Define and fulfill AUP and other audit requirements JOB-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS At least 10 years of relevant experience, with several years of experience in managing a team of analysts and managers Experience within a financial service institution with extensive knowledge of asset servicing, collection, and loss mitigation processes. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and collaborate with people of varying skillsets Strong planning and organization skills with a high attention to detail Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources coupled with excellent analytical skills to document diverse and changing business activities; recognize and identify internal risks and control points; and research and problem-solve complex issues and transactions in determining the appropriate solutions Ability to manage a teams workload and appropriately escalate issues and provide updates on the general status of the team to the Managing Director of the group Ability to communicate process improvement and efficiency needs Ability to work in a fast-paced environment High caliber of professional interpersonal, communication, time management and presentation skills in both verbal and written formats Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proven ability to perform complex analytical tasks and reconciliations Familiarity with documentation practices and requirements (loan agreements, security pledges, performance monitoring, covenant tracking, etc.) Dependable and reliable, takes initiatives and is a self-starter, can work independently without close supervision and be a team member Nice to have: Middle office experience EDUCATION Masters degree in a technical discipline (accounting/finance/business) from a four-year institution COMPENSATION Commensurate with experience EEO STATEMENT The Company maintains a policy of non-discrimination in employment and complies with and supports all Federal, state, and local laws regarding discrimination in employment.
