Healthworx is seeking a Corporate Development Manager to be responsible for leading strategic partnership and inorganic growth initiatives in support of the CareFirst and Healthworx strategy and mission. Leveraging experience in financial and strategic analysis, new business model development, partnership structuring, and leading cross-functional teams, the Manager will help shape and execute on the CareFirst inorganic growth strategy. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Under the direction of the Corporate Development Program Director, the incumbent is responsible for, but is not limited to, the following: Lead corporate development initiatives including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic contracting and partnershipsEngage with internal and external stakeholders to support the day-to-day execution of corporate development initiatives Develop new business models and partnership structures that advance CareFirst strategic objectives and Healthworx's diversification targets Support the development and enhancement of the inorganic growth strategy for CareFirstBuild and maintain operating and valuation models for acquisitions, partnerships and joint venturesEvaluate, model and conduct due diligence on potential corporate development and opportunities Mentor and support the development of AssociatesPerform ongoing research, financial modeling and analysis to inform investment decisionsCreate compelling, persuasive presentation materials to communicate key learnings and recommendations to senior level executives Support current and new projects and initiatives across all areas of focus within HWX with a high degree of independence, rigor, and quality Additional core responsibilities include: Contribute to the development of a high performance, innovative, collaborative and continuous learning cultureAttend internal and external meetings, including presentations to executive teamsCommunicate and coordinate with internal departments, executive management, and external stakeholders, providing clear and accurate data QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (eg, Finance, Economics, Business, or Accounting)7+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, management consulting, or corporate finance environment, with exposure to the healthcare industry Required Abilities/Skills: Independent thinker who can think strategically and creatively and also drive tactical executionExceptional communication, active listening, critical thinking, and presentation skillsStrong project management skills. Must be able to provide structure, be proactive, navigate ambiguity, manage stakeholders, hold others accountable without authority, and create appropriate professional collateral (eg, decks, project plans, etc.)Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret financial information and accurately explain/report activity in verbal and written communicationsStrong financial, quantitative and analytical skillsAbility to work independently without supervision and navigate day-to-day decision makingExcellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities Preferred Abilities/Skills: Experience with a wide breadth of strategic transactions, including partnerships and Joint VenturesMBA, JD, or Master's degree in a health-related disciplineExperience in an entrepreneurial settingExperience reviewing and drafting legal documentation Equal Employment Opportunity CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is an Equal Opportunity (EEO) employer.
