Your Role Our fast-paced Global Design Firm is looking for a Senior Accountant to partner with the Corporate General Ledger Finance Team. This position reports to the Firmwide Accounting Manager and is responsible for monthly Journal Entries, Fixed Assets, Deferred Rent, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations and tasks related to Month End Close. This role will also assist the Global Finance team with schedules and support for our international locations. They will work closely with all areas of corporate finance and with regional accounting teams. What You Will Do Review, prepare and post journal entries into the accounting system for our multiple offices in multiple currencies Assist with month end close, including journal entries and report preparation Bank Account reconciliations, both domestic and international Reconcile balance sheet accounts and work with regional staff to clear reconciling items Prepare prepaid schedules, amortization schedules and monthly accruals Manage Fixed Assets including additions, disposals and monthly depreciation expense Process transactions related to Bad Debt Expense, Write-off and Recovery Serve as a studio accountant by preparing annual budgets, explaining actual to budget variances, providing monthly analysis and updating forecasts Assist with AR and Legal reserves and participate in quarterly review calls with regions Generate, analyze, and summarize large sets of data for reporting purposes on an as needed basis Work with internal clients to assure compliance with internal accounting policies Communicate effectively and on a regular basis with finance staff throughout the firm in a regional support capacity Cross-train on a variety of tasks to act as backup to other members of the finance team Carry out other duties as assigned Your Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 5+ years of accounting experience Self-starter and able to work independently Intermediate to advanced Excel user Working understanding of US GAAP and good internal control Experience in A/E/C, professional services industry, or public accounting is desirable Experience with Fixed Asset Software, Blackline Reconciliation Software or DelTek Vision is desirable Demonstration of an ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment, and produce accurate and timely deliverables Ability to communicate and interact effectively with individuals at all levels internally as well as outside of the firm in various countries and cultures A team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships Results driven and detail oriented Flexibility to take calls outside of normal working hours as needed Life at Gensler Gensler is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
