Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Zendesk Initial Customer Onboarding Team responsible for developing the trial experience and in product engagement features for Zendesk customers is looking for a senior software engineer with strong command over the frontend languages like JavaScript, and past experience with developing with frontend libraries like React.js to join them on their journey to provide a consistent and intuitive trial experience across the Zendesk products.What you get to do every day:Plan, and Execute on frontend development initiatives working with different partners Product Management, Design, Engineering Leadership and the team to deliver customer facing product featuresMaintain and enhance our existing user interactions built with React at the codeInteract with the Design, Brand, Content and Customer research teams to propose creative solutions to challenging frontend problemsTest, Document and Deploy features to production keeping reliability at the center of everythingPair with other engineers on the team to build software using standard frontend design patternsProvide support to the customer advocacy teams to ensure our systems and services are available to customersCommunicate and demo product, engineering initiatives to partnersWhat you bring to the role:Previous proven experience with frontend software developmentExpertise in technical areas including but not limited to Object relational mapping, Caching, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, CSS-in-JS, JSON, and REST APIsUnderstanding and past work experience with relational databases and SQL (preferably MySQL)Advanced experience developing applications with React, or similar JavaScript frameworkA team-first collaborative demeanor that thrives in a fast paced agile development environmentNice to have:Experience with Rails or JavaExperience working on open source projects with an active GitHub repoDatadog, Rollbar monitoring experienceExperience with instrumentation using frameworks like Segment or PendoExperience working in a fast paced environment with continuous integration, test-driven development using unit/integration/load/performance testingExperience with Continuous Integration systems or Continuous Deployment / Delivery (GithubActions, Travis, Jenkins)
