Reports to the Human Resources Manager and is an hourly, non-exempt position. Responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties relating to personnel, benefits, compensation, and employee relations activities. Demonstrates on- going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: workplace relations and ethics; information management; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independent living. Du ti es and Responsibilities: Demonstrates and abides by ODLE Core Values and operating principles. Maintains up-to-date and organized HR files, eg, confidential, personnel, medical, training, I-9, drivers license, and insurance paperwork. Assists with processing paperwork for new hires and terminations, including retirement report and forms when applicable. Assists with advertising all open positions available on-center with Job Bid Program and off-center resources. Assists with conducting benefits enrollment and orientation for new employees and informing new employees of available insurance benefits, procedures, etc. Maintains the chronological training log and individual training records for all employees. Performs HR administrative and clerical duties, answer phones, receive visitors to office; provide job information to applicants. Attends in-service training sessions. Provides staff training to center management personnel as it relates to Human Resources. Adheres to all aspects of Quality Assurance Plan. Cultivate and maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn. Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency. Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adhere to safety practices in all areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned. Bachelors degree, PHR Certification preferred. Two (2) years related experience required. Four years Human Resources-related work preferred. Ability to complete all mandated training requirement per government and management directives required. Add iti ona l Requirements: Ability to perform administrative duties without immediate and constant supervision. Ability to type accurately at a fast speed. Proficient in the use of a personal computer. Working knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Thorough knowledge of office procedures. Effective organizational skills. Sound business telephone techniques. Ability to proofread and correct grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population. Ability to deal effectively with the public and government officials. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Position requires an ability to operate office equipment. In addition, individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments. W ork ing Conditions: This position involves frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Occasionally position requires, bending, stooping, squatting, and carrying. Applicant must be able to see, hear, and speak. Environmental Demands: Position requires ability to spend 5% of work time outside and 95% of work time indoors; ability to withstand moderate noise levels, including voice levels 90% of work time; ability to work in high temperature settings during the summer months; and ability to work in low temperature settings in winter months.
