F&B Server DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, AM Dining Room Supervisor and Dining Room Manager, F&B Servers are responsible for coordinating and communicating with front and back of house personnel to provide a dining experience that meets and exceeds guest expectations. Servers must have extensive knowledge of all menu items, ingredients and methods of preparations. Awareness of excellent guest relations while offering professional and courteous service are crucial to the overall experience of our guests. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operational Acumen: * Ensure proper setup of all service areas * Maintain a working knowledge of ingredients in various menu items * Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses * Possess the ability to properly enter all orders into the POS * Ensure overall responsibility of the running of your station, private function or room service Supervision: * Ensure that company policies, vision statement and departmental objectives are followed at all times. Customer Service: * Be fully conversant with food and beverage options offered in the mansion and provide explanations as requested * Obtain feedback from guests to improve service and pass on to management * Greet all guests and owners by appropriate title and last name Health and Safety: * Contribute to the formulation and review of risk assessment for the work areas * Take responsibility for monitoring and reporting any health and safety issues to management * Employ safe practices, act as a role model and provide guidance to staff to ensure that their safety and that of guests is protected * Ensure that all appliances, fixtures and fittings are safe and work in accordance with health and safety regulations * Be fully aware of the hotel's fire and safety procedures and health and safety regulations Stock and Inventory: * Liaise with managers to ensure tight stock control and budgeted margins are achieved. * Communicate with management to ensure products, supplies and equipment are ready and available for the execution of service. General: * Ensure all appliances, fixtures and fittings are safe and work in accordance with health & safety regulations and report any faults to management * Assist with special events as needed * Report for duty punctually and in full uniform according to appearance and grooming standards * Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * High School diploma or equivalent; two years of related experience and/or Culinary Program curriculum; equivalent combination of education and experience * High level of professionalism PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Ability to use physical capabilities such as walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing and carrying * Ability to transport and carry objects such as highchairs, bins, glass racks and other restaurant/hotel equipment for food and beverage service * Fast paced mobility for long periods of time * While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl * The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat from the stoves and burners. Daily activities involve the use of knives, slices, mixers, et. The kitchen floor may be slippery and wet. Hot liquids in large containers are moved and must be carefully transported * The noise level in the work environment is usually loud * May be exposed to hazardous cleaning chemicals and supplies, hot food preparation equipment, smoke, and other hazardous conditions common to commercial food preparation areas * May be exposed to individuals under the influence of alcohol.
