About Kingsman Academy Kingsman Academy serves students in grades 6 through 12 in a project-based academic program that emphasizes a therapeutic approach to personalized learning. Kingsman Academy welcomes all students, especially those who are over-aged and under-credited, who have attendance problems, or who have behavioral or emotional challenges. The mission of Kingsman Academy is to provide an individualized and rigorous education in a supportive environment to prepare scholars for post-secondary success and responsible citizenship. Kingsman Academy offers individualized instruction and additional resources for all students, rich special education services, a strong multi-tiered system of supports, and a school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program. Primary Responsibilities Develop a personalized, competency-based curriculum aligned with the school's Critical Concepts. Build positive relationships with students that create a sense of belonging, growth mindset, and academic engagement in students. Craft a student-centered learning environment utilizing a thoughtful balance of direct instruction, practicing and deepening, and application lessons. Measure evidence of students learning against consistent proficiency scales. Serve as an advisor to a small group of students, supporting their successes in and outside the classroom. Engage in a personalized professional development program. Use relevant technology to support instruction. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. Prepare required reports on students and activities. Manage student behavior in accordance with school rules and code of conduct. Participate in department and school meetings, including parent meetings. Perform other responsibilities appropriate for a Kingsman Academy faculty member. Requirements Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications, skills, and qualities: At least a bachelor's degree in a related field. Belief that all students can achieve excellence. Experience working in secondary urban school settings, preferably with students with a wide range of learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Skill analyzing, interpreting, and using data to collaborate, identify best practices and areas for improvement, and drive results. A positive attitude, enthusiasm, self-confidence, and flexibility.
