Red Five is a security company that serves families and corporations worldwide. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. The Senior Accountant functions as a key member of the Accounting team, which is responsible for ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of information entered into the general ledger. In addition, the Senior Accountant will assist with corporate accounting matters including, but not limited to, the month-end close process, consolidation, general ledger account reconciliations, variance analysis and financial statement and internal control audits. In summary, this role will be responsible for journal entries, account analyses, daily transactions, supporting monthly closings, maintenance of sub-ledger and other duties. This is a full-time position based in our Arlington, Virginia office. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support general accounting functions including the presentation of journal entries and account analyses Responsible for accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, cash applications, monthly general ledger close (GAAP), account reconciliations, payroll processing, and the research, identification and resolution of all discrepancies Manage, support and create workpapers for Corporate Tax Filings Apply for various business licenses as needed, and ensure the company maintains good standing with business filing agencies Communicate with the Outsourced Accounting Team regarding any issues that may impact the timeliness and/or reliability of financial results Review and post daily accounting transactions Continually assess ongoing processes to identify areas for potential improvement Provide support for external and internal audits (ie financial statement reviews, bank exams) as related to assigned tasking responsibility areas Work with confidential data in a professional manner to maintain the integrity of the data and processes Perform other general accounting duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned by management Maintain an organized workspace and files, including both electronic and hard copy Perform other related duties as assigned Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent additional related work experience CPA preferred Minimum four years of accounting experience Experience with Unanet software application is required Must have extensive general ledger reconciliation experience Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Demonstrated understanding of T&M, CPFF, and FFP contracts Strong presentation skills, attention to detail and follow-through skills Ability to handle impromptu requests in a timely manner Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Must show a high degree of initiative to multi-task, solve problems and self-prioritize Proven track record of handling confidential information with discretion Ability to establish and maintain effective and positive working relationships with all staff and visitors Proven analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills Experience with Mac OS and Google Workspace preferred Authorized to legally work for any employer in the United States Fluent in English Willingness to submit to any requested background checks ABOUT US: Red Five advises corporations and private families around the world on how to maintain their privacy and be more secure.
